Insights from our Activities in Governance
The Governance and Decentralisation Program was successful in achieving following intended effects: An enabling legislative environment for decentralisation is created through the adoption of the State Policy on Decentralisation that amended the Constitution and the revision of Law on Administrative and Territorial Units and Their Governance (LATUG). Comprehensive review of 352 effective laws and Law on Media Freedom improved the legislative environment. The GDP-introduced functional allocation methodology was effectively applied and mainstreamed at all government levels to advance administrative decentralisation in Mongolia. The digitalisation and de-concentration of services at the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar level, coupled with the digitalisation of the Local Development Fund (LDF), enhanced the sustainability of public services that respond to citizens' needs.
