Mongolia

After the collapse of communism in 1989, Mongolia was faced with new economic and social transformations that culminated in the adoption of a democratic constitution in 1992. The significant political, social and economic progress allowed the Mongolian Parliament to adopt the “Vision 2050” policy. This policy builds on the Sustainable Development Goals and sets a long-term development path. Mongolia is now a middle-income country.

Mongolia

Switzerland has supported Mongolia for more than 20 years in the areas of democracy, human rights and gender equality, climate change and environment, and inclusive economic development. After the end of bilateral development cooperation at the end of 2024, the projects and institutions established by Switzerland for sustainable economic development, governance and gender are now carried by the Mongolian government. More information and details on Switzerland's projects and activities in Mongolia can be found in the following documents.
